Woohoo.... What a session, it doesn't get any better than that.
It looked pretty windy to start with, but I rigged my big board and 5.7m
sail just to be on the safe side. I hung on to that for about half an hour,
but then decided to change down to my 5m and my little wave board. I did so
just at the right time as the wind picked up even more, and I was
overpowered on the saller kit. More outhaul was required, but even with the
sail set as flat as possible I was still a little overpowered. I was going
to change down to my 4.5m but decided to hang on just a little longer.
Instead of changing down I headed upwind a little and sailed in the shelter
of the cliffs where I was perfectly powered up and had an excellent
session. Good jumps on the way out, loads of really slick gybes on the face
of the waves out the back, and then some amazing backside wave rides on the
way in.
After a while Amos came out surfing and provided a handy gybe marker. It
also made me go for it a bit more on the wave rides, sending up spray of my
top turns just to show off to the surfer!!!
I stayed out for another hour or so until I was too tired to continue....
Top session! :)
